Anna is being beaten by her boy friend, but nobody believes her. So Anna runs away. The only places that she knows she will be safe is to her friend Katie's house in Amish country. Anna shows up on the doorstep with a black eye. The family welcomes her in, even though they are worried that they might get in trouble. Back home Anna's boyfriend Rob is still looking for her, everywhere and anywhere. And if anyone is standing in his way, he's going to take them down. Anna sends word to her parents where she is. They wait awhile and then they come to try and get her. In the mean time Anna has fallen in love with Henry, Katie's older brother. When Anna's parents arrive, there pulls up Rob to claim his possession. but no one is willing to let Anna go with him, until he pulls out a gun and demands that she comes with him. Anna goes with Rob, but he doesn't get to far with Anna before the rest come after him and knock him unconscious. Rob does not end up with Anna. Anna returns home with her parents, but she misses Henry terribly. She sends him a letter. Anna ends up moving back to Amish country and decides that she will become Amish.
This was a great book. I would recommend it. I am now reading the sequel.
