When the Silence Breaks by Elizabeth Goddard is the first book in the Mercy Ridge series. This book had me hooked from the start, and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

The story opens with: “Secrets can’t stay buried forever.” As the story unfolds, we find out how true this quote is. Sarah has come to Mercy Ridge to try and uncover secrets and find out the reason behind her brother’s death-or was it murder? When she sets her sights on Ryder Goodwin for her wilderness guide, no one is more surprised than her when he helps her from a mudslide. When weird things start to happen, Ryder agrees to help Sarah. As they traverse the Cascade Mountains, I felt like I was right alongside Sarah and Ryder navigating these mountains. This story was jam-packed with action and suspense. There were secrets to uncover, shots fired, a suspicious person poking around, mudslides, an old military plane, and more. This story kept me guessing throughout the whole thing, and I could not put the story down. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say the layers to this story were amazing- I was definitely left shocked a few times.

Elizabeth Goddard intertwined faith elements throughout this story perfectly. They had to lean into God to overcome their adventure.

Review:

Find Me in the Wind is the sixth book in season 2 of the Jonathan Island series, and I loved this book from the start. If you love a great small-town Hallmark story, this is the book for you. What will you get in this story? Marriage of convenience, secret princess, and all the swoon-worthy moments.

Tyler Sullivan has spent a lot of time trying to stay away from Jonathan Island after his father accidentally burned down The Grand. After his ship sank, his sister, Dani, ropes him into helping with her latest town event. Tyler finds himself landbound for some time. When Tyler meets Sophie, and she proposes a fake marriage for 30 days, in exchange for money, Tyler decides it would be a great offer to be able to fix his boat.

The town of Jonathan Island has my heart. Each story has been the perfect level of small-town romance. Who needs TV when you have a series like this? I loved getting to switch things up and have a hidden royal identity mixed with a marriage of convenience- the making of all the best Hallmark movies. Not so realistic, but sometimes that is exactly what I am looking for, and this book delivered.

This marriage of convenience romance was sweet with kisses only.

Patti Stockdale did a great job intertwining faith elements throughout the story.
