About the Author

Felicia Ferguson achieved master’s degrees in Healthcare Administration and Speech-Language Pathology, but has written since childhood and dreamed of authoring books that teach and inspire others. An award-winning fiction and non-fiction freelance writer, she has published several devotions and sweet romance short stories. Her passion, however, is writing women’s fiction and romantic suspense with strong female characters who work through their traumas and tragedies using biblical principles and counseling techniques.

As a child, Felicia lived in Kansas, Texas, and Louisiana before her family settled on a horse and cattle farm in Kentucky. As an adult, she lived in Tennessee for two years and later spent ten years in the Florida panhandle soaking up the sand and sun. But then God moved her once again. This time out of the South and into the mountains of Colorado. When she’s not glued to her laptop, Felicia enjoys hiking, Bible studies with friends, and looking forward to the next story.

Review

The Ties That Loose is the second book I have read written by Felicia Ferguson. This book was an emotional journey. The details in this story are spot on and bring this story to life.

The character development was great. I loved seeing Chris struggle with his dad’s desire and brothers’ missteps that he felt the pressure to pursues his career in the air force. Dani has different layers to peel back. Dealing with the trauma of her own father being a POW/killed in action and seeing the toll it took on her own mom, now reliving some of those emotions are hard. I loved watching her process and grow more in her faith.

The storyline was great. I loved seeing the parallels to their own parents lives and desires and seeing how that affected them. While also changing their own future when they let God take control. I felt like I was truly in the middle of the forest hunting down my husband. It made me have an even greater appreciation for our military. Overall, this book was well written.

Felicia Ferguson did a great job intertwining faith throughout the story. I loved seeing how the main characters had to lean into God to be reunited. It was a great reminder to give it over to God and leave my life in His hands.
