The character development was good. Both Lily and Declan must overcome the hurdle of family obligations and try to see where God is leading them. I loved seeing Lily come to life and find her true passion while also telling her parents the truth about what has been going on. Declan has to overcome the guilt he feels from his grandfather’s death. I loved that not only did the main characters grow but also the family healed and mended bonds.
The setting and storyline were perfect. I loved the hallmark feel. The small island town is the perfect setting for this series, and I loved getting to revisit and learn more about this town and its people. I loved the deep-rooted family feud and watching Lily and Declan try to overcome and mend relationships. I loved the fudge war to see who would win the fudge shop.
The second chance romance between Lily and Declan is a sweet and low-spice, kisses-only romance.
Lindsay Harrel and Rachel D. Russell did a great job intertwining faith throughout the book.
