Review

Shipwrecked Faith is such a great story. Danielle Grandinetti does such a great job of bringing historical events to life and focuses on lesser-known ones.

Sadie is trying to return home to help her ailing father and help keep the family farm. On her journey, she has a run-in with some men from the mob who try to kidnap her. Kellan steps in, rescues Sadie, and promises to help her get home. Kellan is also on the run from his past. Leaving his crooked cousin behind, he is off to start over. The only way to leave seems to be on the SS Wisconsin. On their way, the ship begins to sink, and Kellen and Sadie just barely make it off. When they get to shore, they make it back to Sadie’s family farm. Shortly after they arrive, the beginning of the Great Depression begins with the collapse of the banks. Sadie is left trying to figure out how to help her family. Kellan has nowhere else to go, so he offers to stay and help while he finds his footing. With everything going on, Sadie’s father is fast declining. He encourages the relationship between Sadie and Kellan, even though he hasn’t known him long, he can see his heart. The family must pull together to try to save the farm from the collapse of the Great Depression.

The romance was perfect and sweet.

Danielle Grandinetti did a great job of intertwining faith throughout this story while bringing this time period to life. I cannot wait to read book two.
