Bookmarked for Love is the third book in the Checking Out Love series written by Sarah Monzon. The story can be enjoyed as a standalone, though there are some overlapping characters from previous stories.

Martha is a children’s librarian assistant. And with budget cuts, she is about to lose her job. When she asks Julien King for a donation to try and keep the library afloat, he comes back with another proposition to help him save his grandmother’s passion project, the children’s imprint at his family’s publishing empire. Martha’s dad worked for the King’s as a gardener and groundskeeper, so Martha grew up living in the back house at Julien’s family estate. Julien was a little bit older, so growing up they didn’t really hang out together, but Martha did have a crush on Julien. Now they are off to a Children’s writers conference to try and land the next big manuscript. Learning to work together while also pulling back the layers of their past and their family dynamics was entertaining.

This age-gap, middle-aged romance was sweet and clean with kisses only.

The faith element was a little on the light side of things. But it made for the perfect rom-com.
