Purge by Sarah Littman

Purge by Sarah Littman.

This book was a hard read, but also a great read.
Janie Ryman has gone through a lot lately. Her life as she knows it has been flipped upside down. The book is written half as journal entries from Janie and the other half of the events that take place while Janie is in rehab at Golden Slopes. Many people appear to be worse than her. Yet all of them have a common bond. They all have an issue with food, and most of them have parents that have an issue with food as well.
Janie is addicted to bingeing. She loves her food, but it makes her feel fat and ugly so she pukes. she eats to feel empty. She has all these things from the world pilling on her shoulders. She has the pressure of feeling perfect from her parents, the pressure of wanting the perfect(in her mind) guy from herself, and no one seems to understand her, or so Janie thinks. What Janie really needs is God, unfortunately she doesn't find him. But Janie does come to terms with her issues with food and talks to her parents about what happened and how she feels. She learns that she has to communicate her feelings and let others in. (I some times struggle with this)
I really enjoyed this book. It is aimed more at preteens/teens. I enjoyed it because I could relate. I would recommend this book to others.
