Unshaken by: Francine Rivers

Ruth. Ruth is only four chapters in the Bible. It doesn't go into to much detail about Ruth and the story behind her. What we do know is that Ruth was extremely loyal to Naomi and determined to stay with her no matter what.

Ruth 1:16-17 says:
But Ruth said:
      “ Entreat me not to leave you,
      Or to turn back from following after you;
      For wherever you go, I will go;
      And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
      Your people shall be my people,
      And your God, my God.
          Where you die, I will die,
      And there will I be buried.
      The LORD do so to me, and more also,
      If anything but death parts you and me.”

Francine Rivers does an amazing job at taking us back through Ruth's shoes. She writes Ruth's untold story. When the cover is open we are back in the bible times. there has been a great famine throughout Judah and Naomi's family leaves to find food. We are then introduced to the Moabitess, Ruth who will not leave her mother-in-law because of her great faith in God. This is an awesome woman to have in Jesus lineage. A woman so devoted to her mother-in-law that she forsakes her people, her parents, her parents god, and her land. Just to follow Naomi. God truly blesses this woman. I enjoyed reading this novel so much. It was truly a fantastic read. I look forward to finishing the rest of the books in this series.
